I was dreading moving from our four-bedroom home to a two-bedroom condo near the Atwater Market. Our new place was in a perfect location with lots of great features but it was small and outdated. For our family to be happy there it had to be a fresh start in a modern condo. I knew I needed help but I was afraid to use a decorator as I had had a terrible experience in the past. Rebecca saved the day. In the beginning I was cautious and skeptical but as she worked her magic it became apparent that she could create our dream condo and we are extremely happy with the results. After consulting with another designer on which colour to paint my new kitchen cabinets, I realized that her recommendation just wasn’t right. I was confident in the look that I wanted but very unsure as to how to achieve it. So I went on the Internet and came across Rebecca’s website. She came over and, after listening to me describe the look I wanted, immediately recommended a certain cream colour for the cabinets. It was exactly the colour I was looking for. From that point on, I consulted with Rebecca regularly and have been very happy with the results (my new backsplash gets tons of compliments!). Even when I had my doubts about the paint colour she suggested for the walls, I followed her advice and lived with it for a couple of weeks and she was right – it grew on me more each day. I recently worked with Rebecca Mitchell on my small bathroom renovation. My goal was to have Rebecca’s input in the selection of fixtures, shower, lighting and tiles. She quickly assessed my bathroom, understood my budget restrictions as well as my style. Rebecca challenged me to broaden my choices by showing me other options and how certain textures, styles would make my bathroom look bigger. I really enjoyed working with Rebecca; I wanted to make my home my own personal space yet I also wanted someone to help me put all of my ideas into focus. I have used Rebecca’s services on several occasions, ranging from the small-but-helpful consultation to overseeing a major renovation. In the beginning, she provided helpful advice on paint colour schemes.
