Rebecca helped identify our wants and needs and gave us a few options. She helped choose a colour scheme for our home, pick fabrics for drapes and chair coverings and arranged to have them made and installed. She offered suggestions as to how to store items and reduce clutter and helped me shop for items to decorate shelves and walls. What I appreciated most of all was Rebecca looking through our albums, frames, prints and paintings and finding a way to showcase our favourites (even hammering nails in the wall). We were always given written estimates of the work and costs involved. She kept all receipts and meticulous records of the jobs done in our home. I really enjoyed working with Rebecca; I wanted to make my home my own personal space yet I also wanted someone to help me put all of my ideas into focus. I have used Rebecca’s services on several occasions, ranging from the small-but-helpful consultation to overseeing a major renovation. In the beginning, she provided helpful advice on paint colour schemes. Her suggestion to paint our dining room ceiling a dramatic blue never fails to garner enthusiastic comments from anyone who ever visits our home. In fact, a colleague at an out-of-town scientific conference (of all things!) came over to me and said, “I hear you’ve painted your house in really wonderful colours!” Word travels fast. As a busy working professional with a two-year old at home, when the time came to renovate an entire floor of our house, I quickly realized that I did not have time to research the lighting, the tiles, the flooring, the everything! Rebecca did all of that for me. She brainstormed with me, took my ill-formed ideas, and then came back with choices that exceeded my expectations by 150%! When it became clear that our renovation would run over-time and my family and I were about to leave on sabbatical for 6 months, my husband suggested that we hire Rebecca to see the end of the project through.
